The system was supposed to have a separate recovery partition to boot from, wasn't it? You may be able to download a copy of them from a bittorrent site, but basically this is why buying Acer is a false economy.
Alternatively, you could try taking the machine back to the shop and telling them it's not fit for purpose. Acer should have sent a set of recovery disks with the laptop originally.
