The CNA training certificate lasts for eight weeks. This school is a part of the Connecticut Technical College Program and is accredited by the state in all degrees and certifications.
The certified nursing assistant is a non-credit program that includes hours of coursework and clinicals. Situated in Hartford, Capital Community Technical College provides students who live in the city with the opportunity to pursue a degree or occupational certification on campus.
There are more than two different certificate programs available at the school. The health career pathways department oversees a nurse aide training option that will prepare students to become a CNA. The second largest of the community colleges in Connecticut, Norwalk Community College offers more than 65 different degree and technical certification programs. The school offers a nurse and allied health program for those who want to become a CNA.
Students must complete certain prerequisites before entering the nurse aide program and then must pass a state-approved test before becoming certified. It offers a variety of two-year degrees as well as technical training for students in the area.
Failure to comply would mean the termination of the certification and ineligibility to work. You may also need to retake CNA training and examination again in order to gain certification. CT Works One Stop Center offers financial aid to those who cannot afford to pay for their school tuition fees. The courses are offered during fall, summer, and winter so you are free to choose which schedule would be easier for you. Former nurse aides who have allowed their CNA certification to lapse and do not qualify for renewal will be required to go through the examination process, but not necessarily to retrain. Applicants who are testing at their own facility will submit applications to a training coordinator. Other applicants will submit them to Prometric.
