I really did try to follow my own rules and take moments for myself — sitting outside, reading some fiction, walking my dog in nature.

Even if that weren't the case, the devs messed up and allocated 8 times the necessary space for the license picture, which is why the save file doubled in size. Anything after Road Rules wouldn't be read in Remastered.
If you do want to transfer some data this way, everything before offset 0x34B0E still works in Remastered. That includes all progression from the base game except Road Rules and a couple miscellaneous things. Well that's good to know, at least the main parts of the game can be loaded.
